On September 8, 2023, in a welcome return to teamwork and volunteerism, the Filipino American Marriage Group of Arizona (FAMAZ) came together in a heartwarming display of community spirit. Joining hands with several local groups, FAMAZ members volunteered at Feed My Starving Children in Mesa, packing 164 boxes in just under two hours. These boxes contained 35,424 meals, enough to feed 97 children for an entire year. The value of these meals? Over $10,000!
FAMAZ isn’t just about community; it’s about building and strengthening friendships through shared experiences. This recent community service activity is a testament to that. By volunteering, members not only made a significant difference in the lives of many but also deepened their bonds with each other.
For those unfamiliar, Feed My Starving Children is a remarkable organization dedicated to combating child hunger. After a fulfilling day of packing meals, FAMAZ members headed to the Vine Tavern and Eatery, located at 975 E Elliot Rd, Tempe, AZ 85284. A big shoutout and thank you to the owner for his warm hospitality. The food was a hit, especially the French Dip sub, which one of our FilAm teens declared as the “best… I have ever had.”
